Launch of the book “Mining Dams in the Amazon – the tailings and its associated hazards in Oriximiná”

On June first 2021, Comissão Pró-Índio de São Paulo launched the book “Mining Dams in the Amazon: the tailings and its associated hazards in Oriximiná”. The book is authored by Professor Luiz Jardim Wanderley, Ph.D. in Geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and the Coordinator of the Research and Extension Group “Politics, Economy, Mining, Environment and Society”, the PoEMAS.

The author was interviewed by the journalist Cristina Serra – columnist for Folha de São Paulo and author of “Tragédia em Mariana – A história do maior desastre ambiental do Brasil”.
